More White Stone Circles, Caches, Har Karkom, Israel
This gallery presents photos of artifacts and naturefacts that I found associated with more or less circular arrangements of white limestone blocks. To this extent they may be compared to the flint objects deposited in the limestone block circle at HK19 placed in a hutfloor, associated with tools of the Levantine Mousterien.
The gallery covers five stone circles, four made of limestone blocks, the fifth actually of black blocks. Excepting HK93 I do not know their actual site location or coordinates. (Interpretations: James Harrod)
- HK93 (4/2/1996). Large pentagonal pointed stone in white stone circle, in which flints with apperance of flying bird, zoomorph head, two flints vaguely elephant-like. (Flints of EP Acheulian, MP, and Bronze Age C.)
- On the way from HK126, north of HK29 (4/10/1996). In a stone circle, flints suggesting flying bird (with red zigazg inclusion in upturned wing); three zoomorphs; hexagonal black stone and a black spheroid.
- On the way from HK126 to HK35, near HK25? (4/3/1996). 3 white stone circles. In one a black flint gives excellent shape of lion head.
- To left of the trail about 30 m. east of HK126 (4/10/1996). A white stone circle about 1 m. diameter, shapes suggesting a bison, vague hippo, horsehead and flying bird. Hint of 6 or more other circles in this area, some with flints in them.
- A black stone circle north of HK29.
