Oldowan - NW Europe - l) Ede II rhomboids, NetherlandsComment: Identified as micro-Heidelbergian, Chopper-Chopping Tool Complex, a tradition that spans 200,000-700,000 BP, Archaeologische Berichten 19:81-82. Ede II is given a minimum dating of pre-Saale III c. 200,000 BP and a maximum age during the Cromerian, c. 500,000-800,000, with probable Cromerian date based on geological strata. It may be comparable to Altonauer Stufe, as at Hamburg-Wittenbergen, dated by Steffens and Rust as pre-Saale III and probably Treene c. 200,000; see Peeters, H., Musch, J., Wouters, A. (1988).
