HK148b Aterian Hut Site, Har Karkom, Israel, Gallery 2 -- West Sector
c. greater than 100,000 to 24,000 BP; l) hk148b #13a hippo

Aterian hutfloor HK 148b, West Sector, artifact #13a; flint.

Tentative interpretation (James Harrod): This flint artifact appears to bear multiple images, hippo + elephant. At this angle it appears to be hippopotamus-like, with a wide snout and two chips (natural or artificial) that suggest eyes or ears. If elephant+hippo, this repeats the same combination apparently represented on artifact #10 (image (f) this Gallery).
