HK70-71, Har Karkom, Israel; h) hk71 3flints

HK71. On a hutfloor entrance, three flaked flints.

Tentative interpretation (James Harrod):

  • equid (horse or wild ass) head (top left)
  • triangular or rhomboid geometric (top right)
  • possible 'female' figurine (center). This stone has same black 'boiled' features as the 'story stones' on the slope down to the wadi.

The HK71 sites are predominately Upper Palaeolithic with some Middle Palaeolithic flints (at HK71c). Exact site location of this photo is not yet correlated.
