Boukoulian, Netherlands, c. 400,000 BP / b)boukcomp

This graph compares average biface lengths for the Boukoulian; Jabeekian (CCC); Acheulian of Abbevillian (VOA) and 'Middle Acheulian'= c. 300,000 BP; Smildian (c. 100,000 BP) and micro-Mousterian. By definition, a bifaces and other tools of size less than 5 cm. are considered 'microlithic'. Boukoulian rtifacts range in size from about 0.5-4 cm; 95% are less than 2 cm.
